The newest faithful man.....Evan Michael Childress made his entrance into this world at 1:06 pm, November 16, 2006. The details for all the ladies reading this...6 lbs 9 ounces, 19 1/4 inches, black hair, baby soft skin, tiny little eyelashes, cute little fingers. |
The proud parents are Scott and Kara Childress, proud brother, Ethan Luke(4 yrs old), proud sister, Emma Faith(2 1/2 yrs old). |
Ethan,4, declared for months that he knew it would be a boy. Emma, 2 1/2, just knew it would be a girl. They were both so excited about getting a baby brother or baby sister, but the parents wanted to return to the old fashion way of not knowing until the baby was born. |
| So there were no sonograms that gave away the gender. When proud brother Ethan walked into the birthing suite, he told his mother, " I told you it was a boy." he kisses his new baby brother. |
Emma anxiously awaits her turn to hold her baby brother, which she immediately declared, " I think he said he loves Emma Bomema." |
One last thing.....many of you are aware that this family and household are divided between their loyalties during the OU/TX football rivalry each October. We have had a lot of fun over the years during this special week, haha
When I saw what my two grandchildren were dressed up as during their Hallelujah party, I knew I had to intervene. |
During our recent Faithful Men Conference I presented the following to Scott so the neighbors would have no doubt where this family stood |
So within hours of Evan Michaels birth I knew I had to protect him from this heartbreaking division in their home and began to gently sing, "Boomer Sooner" to him and put a football in his hands so he would know his Papa and Mana would always be there for him through difficult times. Yes it does say, "Boomer Sooner Evan" across the bottom. |

Okay, I know God is not done with me. But nothing like a little fun to make life more fun and interesting.
Thank you all for sharing in our life and ministry, Jack |
Don't worry Evan, your Daddy, Grandma, Brother, Cousins, and Uncle will remind you that you are a TEXAN through and through. Your only true loyalties will be to the greatness of the Longhorns and this Great State of TEXAS (not Oklahoma!)
Uncle Rodney...Hook em' Horns!
