Just potent words from a woman who was given our book, 'Murder for Hire" by a customer in her restaurant who notice the pain, anger & hate that stood out in her demeanor.
As she waited on him, he asked her what was wrong. She said my sister was murdered last month and her house sat on fire to cover up the murder. But not to worry because they knew who did it and the police were pursuing him but they were not going to wait on the police. "We are going to get him ourselves." The customer said, "wait a minute, don't do that. I know a man that went through the exact same thing and wrote a book abut his experience." He gave her the book right before Christmas and here is the letter I received in the mail last Tuesday, January 6th.
Dear Sir,
I have never been able to read a book because I can't read or spell very good so I just never read books at all. A customer in my store gave me your book, "Murder For Hire." I thought I would try to read it since it made me curious. I could not believe how easy it was to read and understand every word. I could not put it down and read it in one night. I want to say, thank you Jack for writing your testimony. I want to tell you how horrible it was to pull up to my sisters house and they had her laying in the driveway with a tarp over her. We were all full of rage and knew we had to get the guy that did it. I'm ashamed to say how big a mess my sister's funeral was. First of all, the CD skipped all the way through my sisters favorite songs. The man we know did it, came in late stood in the back of the church with his arms folded and refused to leave when I asked him. My oldest brother and my brother-in-law attacked him, beat him up and threw him out of the church, it was crazy.
But now with the help of your book I want to forgive him and somehow pray for him. Please pray for my sisters three children (10,13,16) and our mother. My heart hurts so bad for them all the time."
This woman's story and this letter is why we do what we do in the ministry. This is what it's all about.
Thank God for Glen Hyde who handed her the book.
Thank God for the Holy Spirit that enabled her for the first time to read a book and read it all the way through. and totally understand every word.
I have written her back and sent her my other book, "The Unnatural Act of Forgiveness." I told her this book will help her and her family walk this path of forgiveness they have have chosen.
Thank you for giving to the ministry, it allows us to bless people with these books. When you buy books and God brings someone hurting, full of hate, anger and unforgiveness, you can minister to them and give them a book, even if they can't read!
Would you prayerfully consider an extra gift this month or going to our shopping cart and ordering some to keep in your car for such a moment as this woman's life that needs to know of God's love and forgiveness.
Thanks for being such a big part of Faithful Men Ministries.
In His service,
Jack
